1987 J8RCUD oil ratio

So I got a J8RCUD Johnson 8 HP today and it has a placard on the front for fuel oil mix to be 100/1 does anyone have a owners manual that can confirm this? Can anyone give me a link to a site that would have this info?

It is most definately NOT 100:1. OMC made a big mistake trying that back in the late 80s. Rip that placard off so future owners dont blow the outboard up. 50:1 is the correct mix.

Never mind I found the answer. It needs to be 50/1. Johnson tried to go 100/1 and it just killed overall life of the engine.

The 100:1 experiment did not kill overall life of engines that were regularly used. It did allow some corrosion if stored for long periods.
