"Good trolling motor and also a backup motor" not sure he caught you already have one.

Re-test your motor warm, make sure it's spinning good....maybe a little oil in the cylinder. If still low try another tester....many folk here test low until they try another tester. Your number are to low other than it might just need new head gaskets.

I planned on looking around on Amazon for head gasket. Wouldn't hurt.

Impeller/pump hasn't been changed In The past 4 years so I'm gonna do that. Plus is he said every winter drained and spring filled the gear case. Boy am I learning g a lot real fast. Good thing I like engines(old trucks).

It was a harbor freight tester. If need be ill go get a loaner from auto store.

Another question for y'all. Since the fuel filters are obsolete. What do you guys suggest?

Wide open the boat runs fine fyi. Here where I live also the lakes are not that big(northern indiana) so would mainly use trolling motor.

well exactly......! I simply misread that the big engine was also used as the trolling motor.

Ho well.... good that the electric does the job....in my neck of the woods kickers=parachutes :)
