Help...I have a '87 Black Max 135, it runs great...today I had a problem with the tilt and trim, the engine will come out of the water and tilt up fine, but it will not go down. When I hit the up buton on the trottle or on the motor itself the power tilt engages and raises the motor, but if i push either down button nothing happens. Any ideas?

Hoping to enjoy the holiday weekend...

Thanks for your help,

Ralph

Sounds like you might need a new solenoid for the down tilt circuit, the lower solenoid on your engine. About $20 and 20 minutes to fix, if you can find one on Labor Day holiday...good luck. You can always manually lower the engine by turning the relief valve on the power tilt assembly.
