Hi all,
I couldn?t get my motor started this summer, but the motor has always been hard to get started. I usually have to prime it to get it going. I tried priming and still couldn't get it going, so I went ahead and rebuilt the carb. Was able to get the motor running after the rebuild. In order to get the motor to run without stalling I had to adjust the low-speed needle valve out about a full turn; the manual calls for 5/8 turn. Once I get the boat out on the river the boat has absolutely no power. If I adjust the needle valve the 5/8 turns like the manual calls for the motor once again has power but won?t idle not even for a few seconds. I have played with that needle valve and can?t find anything that works. I'm starting to think the electric prime choke is bad. Is there any way to test this, or at least how should it be set?
Thanks for the help,
