I am looking at a 1986 V20 Wellcraft, which I know will need some work. Does anyone know if the 1986 models had a composite transom and stringer system as the current boats do? I am accepting the fact that the floatation foam is probably water logged, and I can access enough of it to do a replacement. I don't want to start splitting the top and bottom hull to do a full rebuild. I have gone through something like this on a Sylvan Master Troller, which had a plywood transom, soft floors and flooded foam. I'm just not that young any more.
