1986 volvo penta aq125b alt question.

when we hook up the third wire on the alternator my boat will not shut off. when the wire is on the battery will charge. just need to know what might be going on. thanks.

Sounds like the resistor (item#35) is missing.

ok so tonight we take the boat out and the trim motor will only turn in one direction. and it binds in the other is there some rod that came undone?
