i need to replace floor and main wood structure its all rotted .. question is how do i remove the front seats on the bow of the boat.. do i cut it out and re fiberglass it.. i need to replace all wood under floor. no videos on how to do it. but i dont want to destroy main structure . any advise would be great.

As you read through these threads and check out the stickies, I’m sure you’ve come to see that a 1986 boat will most likely be completely rotted to the core. Take lots of measurements before cutting anything. Try to save as many pieces for templates as possible. The floor will continue all the way to the bow, with the bow seats built on top. Depending on how the boat was built will help determine whether or not it needs to be de-capped. Pictures of your boat will certainly help any of us to provide more specific advice.

I can’t really tell from that one pic, but it looks like the seats and floor of the bow could be molded as part of the cap. You may have to separate the cap from the lower tub to get all the rotted wood replaced in the bow. It does look similar to my chap in design though. If that’s the case there is no need to decap. Pics from in the open bow would be helpful.
