Re: 1986 ss 201

So that was quite the trip, great weather on the way down, not so great on the way back, wicked rain, hail wind and a tornado just east of Moorehead Mn I watched off to the north for over ten minutes. 80 miles out of Maple lake after stopping to check bearings three times the bearings went out on the port side on I 94. Good thing I was just pull off to go to Farm and Fleet and they wwere able to put a new hub on right away and get me back on the road. The PO, said the his father bought the boat new and it was kept at the lake on a boat lift or in the boat house till 11 years ago when he passed away and left it to him. He had the engine and out drive rebuilt 2 years ago and has only run it a total of 2 hours since. By the looks of the engine and out drive this correct.. All the cooling hoses are disconnected and the oil is new so it was winterized properly when he stored it. Trim tilt works, gauges and steering, even the bellows don't look bad. The interior though is another story, needs a complete redo, floor transom the whole works. Hull is in awsome shape only one dent I can find and only a couple small scratchs.

I know pictures.

Very nice machine, and yes, there are two additional strakes. Looks like the 1985 still carried them to the bow while your 1986
stopped them short at the helm.

Love that 96" beam, that is a big water boat.

Still waiting for a transom shot of the 85 because the owner converted the I/O to outboard????????????????

Guy sold the 85 before a look at it, OK, concerned about that conversion anyway.

Anyone interested in a 22' Holiday V5, with late model 200HP and a kicker, see Craigs in Ohio.

Glen, you picked a winner. Newer Stars with that size and hull/beam cost over 35K

Hey Jason, absolutly love the lines of this SS, they must be fairly rare as all the threads we have watched, I have never seen one of these. I will try to test run it a couple times, but the interior is pooched, everytime you touch the vynil it breaks.

I'm a little late to this party, but very sharp boat! Its similiar but a little different than mine. What does it measure from tip of bow to transom? And what is it rubrail to rubrail? Just curious to see how they changed them. I know you said the interior is shot but how about some interior pics?

Hey DJ, thanks, length is 20'10"s best I can measure and 96"exactly side to side at the stern. It is exactly the same as my 18 from the top of the gunwall to the top of the side chin strip 27" but at the bow it is 12"s deeper below that. here are a couple more pics

I know you're probably going naked with it, but that stripe ending in a star shape, that's gotta come back :)

Hey Ez, I don't think I'm even going to paint her, there is vurtually no hull damage and only a couple minor scratchs. I took my polishe to it yesterday for 10 minutes and the paint came back just like new. I ordered some real good polish this morning and will give it a real good try before writing it off.
That stripe with the star is real nice, I think even if it went naked it would have to have a version of that stripe to replace the old one.
