I have an 86 pro v 150j engine. After sitting for an extended period of time I was pulling the carbs off and cleaning them when I found the choke plate was broken on the bottom carbs. I have not been able to find a replacement choke plate anywhere. Will it hurt to pull the remaining plate off and run without it?

Did you ever find this answer out? I pulled my carbs and had the same issue. The motor still ran good at idle and started easy but would not go full speed. So I pulled the carbs and found the same problem. I'm thinking it will still get enoughr choke to start but not sure. Also I have read only that this has happen to many people.
