1986 four winns bow back cushion removal?

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and boating as well. I have a 1986 Four Winns 170, and I need to get behind the bow back cushions in order to get access to the underside of the front cleats. I removed them to refinish the exterior of the boat, but don't have access to install a back plate to secure them back on. Anyone know how to remove these cushions to cut a panel, or gain access to the underside? Thank you.

If you are lucky they will be mounted like the cushions on my 86 Starcraft with metal clips. Use something soft to strike upwards from the bottom. Mine popped right out. I won't tell you how much time I spent pushing and prying and thinking evil thoughts about whoever designed how they were attached before I discovered he/she believed in keeping it simple. Hope the same person designed yours.
