Hey all,

So glad I found this site lots of good info. I have a 1986 force 125 4 cylinder. It blew a cyclinder and I just replaced the head with a 1988 125 head. Got it all together and now it won't start. Seems to putter for just a second and then no go. Anyone know much about adjusting the timing on these? Where should it be set? Also which cyclinder is number one top or bottom? Thanks John

Cylinder #1 is on top

Got this from the Doc back when I rebuilt my 1989 125

Static timing

Disconnect all spark plug leads and ground them to the block.

Bypass neutral start so that you can advance the throttle in gear to WOT. (It's a little micro switch just under the throttle cables)

Hook a timing light up to #1 cyl. (top cylinder)

Advance the throttle arm all the way to WOT, turn the key to use the starter to spin your motor.

Set the timing to 2 deg shy of the Max recommended
