Hi all,
The bottom gear assembly (see attached picture) on my 1986 Evinrude 30 has self-destructed. It looks like one of the teeth of the gears popped off and rattled around for an hour while I made it back to port and now I need a whole new unit. The main shaft is fine - everything else needs replacing except the housing and the propeller.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this economically? The rest of the motor is in pristine condition and has been essentially rebuilt over the past 3 years. Compression is 'near-new'.
I would love to upgrade to a 50hp-75hp 2 stroke, so at worst I land up selling this as 'parts'.
Thanks!
