Many boats out there with water logged foam.-----I think----" foam flotation "----Is a feature that looks good in the brochures for new boats.------Foam is not something you want when boat is 30 years old.

Debating building a pod off the transom for engine so i can get rid of splashwell, id probebly extend the stringers all the way out to it , pro's con's?

pro.....not needed with small splashwell

however its your boat.

Home made pods cost more than a bought fabbed pod. Plus they fail.
Kill the splashwells, go flat deck with scuppers after you see where the engine puts it. Then add bilge pumps.
Besides you roll on sun shiney days.
