Hey Fellas:
New to the forum and am looking for some insight on this boat I bought about a year ago (See attached photos). I think it is a 1986 Blue Fin Sportsman (16') but I am not certain. From scrolling through some of the threads, seems like there is more knowledge on here about these boats that I have found anywhere else. The boat is solid and runs pretty goodl with the Evinrude 70 hp on it. I did notice that the VRO system was removed although not sure why. My biggest complaint is that as it is set up now, it just doesn't fish well. I am thinking about making some changes to the layout but want to plan it out well so maybe those of you with experience with rebuilding/modifying these will pass along some lessons learned. So my initial questions are:
(1) Is this in fact a sportsman model?
(2) Is there any documentation to be found on these boats?
(3) what are some of the problem areas I should expect (e.g. transom rot)?
