Overhauled my pump this weekend. Thought I did it correctly, followed all of the directions exceot the first one (note the location and orientation of the fittings in relationship to the pump intallation). The problem is now when I pump up the fuel bulb fuel squirts out of the vent hole on the aft end of the pump. I disassembled and reassembled the pump several times rechecking all parts and even using all of the old parts just for grins and it still leaks. Any sugestions would be helpfull.
Thanks Phil

What year/HP?

I didn't have my cover on correctly one time, rotated a few degrees CCW. It looked okay but shot out fuel when pumping the primer. Just a thought.

Sorry this a dual post from Saturday. 1985 8HP. Still the same problem.

The diaphram is supposed to be between the gasoline and that hole on the back of the housing.

Did one of the housing gaskets have sealant on the metal surface, and if so did you clean it with gasket remover being careful not to score the housing, and then reseal that gasket with permatex #2?
