I just bought this boat and it's in really good shape but in need of some repairs, upgrades, and hasn't been run in 14 years. I have ordered a lot of parts and should have them all by weeks end. Then the fun begins.

Work to do

1. Restore gel coat
2. Flush dual fuel tanks, replace fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter and carb
3. Find and reinstall dual fuel tank valve and switch (could use some help understanding role of switch in relation to valve and fuel gauge)
4. Install new fuse panel and tune up electrical harness
5. Install new radio head unit
6. Change oil and oil filter
7. Freshen up spark plugs and check gap
8. Change impeller and stern drive gear oil
9. Replace plexiglass windshields
10. Install new batteries (done)
11. Polish sterndrive and install new stickers
12. Change out glovebox and install USB chargers inside glovebox
13. Install new rub rail trim
14. Change out accessory panel and switches
15. Change out gauges
16. Change out ignition key

That's it for now. If I can get all these items done before winter hits....I will store and be ready for spring. Colorado River and all the lakes on it are my playground.

My background. I am a general contractor and self perform most of the work I do. I used to work for Bruce when he was still alive and was operating Conqueat Boats after he sold Sleekcraft. Jim Foley married into my family before he passed.

All that being said, looking for recommendations on the restoration and wiring of the dual tanks switch and fuel gauge. Any pointers and help is much appreciated

Thank you Scott, it was the first thing I did.....all the buried wood is solid. I opened every locker and engine compartment and tapped on the critical components every 6" to 12"......no hollow glass

Tapping doesn't reveal anything. For it to sound hollow, takes decades after the rot starts. Take a test drill and check the shavings. FLIR camera will help. Also, weigh the boat and compare to spec.

Appreciate your comment. With all due respect ....I used to build boats (for Bruce Nescher) and have been a general contractor for 40 years. I'm confident the boat is structurally sound.
