I have a 1985 Johnson 115 v4 vro. Trim/Tilt has worked flawlessly until today. Engine raises but won't go down. When I push the "up" button I hear a click in the motor. When I press "down" I get nothing. Traced the "click" to a plastic black box in the engine case w/ 2 solenoids. One of them clicks when I hit the trim up, but again nothing on the down. I switched the two with the same result. I think the hydrolic is a 2 wire setup. After that I'm not sure where to go other than trace simple wire connects, maybe an interlock of some kind....any input?
Where is the best place to get a manual for this motor?

unplug the 2 wires going to the tilt motor, using a jumper wire, pos to one wire, neg to other, motor should run, the reverse the jumper wires. this will tell you if the motor is good. it is a simple direct current motor. it runs one direction with the one polarity, the opposite with the other polaritiy.
