1985 evinrude 6hp fisherman

how hard is it to change the impeller on 1985 6hp evinrude fisherman ? also does it discharge below the water line, i dont see a stream of water ?

Its easy. Just gotta be easy and patient for your first time. My 4hp blows steam out of the exhaust (upper midsection) and does not have a telltale. Not sure about yours tho.

I have to appologize for it not being as explicit on pulling the lower unit on this motor. Waiting until I do it on mine to be sure. However there is a illuststrated diagram that may help.

if its realy 86'
and standard 15" shaft,
then one bolt from the top of lower unit
and 2 bolts under cavitation plate should be out

pull down lower unit and you should takie apart lower unit fro mid section,

take out lower unit, unscreawv 4 bolt from water pump housing and pull up water pump housing,
