Ok, just reviewed everything again. ..you've had many things go wrong. (Prop, shift linkage, low rpm's) did you ever do a compression test? Didn't see one and I'm pretty sure you have over rev'd it many times.

Also, I read you cleaned the carb....but no rebuild? Looks like the gas is not staying atomized.

You have a fuel primer instead of a choke. Read leroysrambilings on how that can cause a rich and or lean situation when it goes bad.

Hopefully you still have good compression.
Good compression. Did the carb rebuild kit. Yea it has a primer. That can cause rich at high speed?

Race says "check the reed valves" and he's forgot more than I know so I wouldn't disc count it. Listening to it, almost sounds like it's running on one cylinder but not sure that would get you on a plane. I've never had a reed valve go out so I don't know the symptoms.

Here is the explanation from Leroy and he says it can go both ways.

It’s firing on both. I’ll check the reed valve. Thanks guys!

Can I just jump the primer? Put a coupling nipple between lead and send pines?
Not sure you can eliminate the primer for sure but here is what I know.

Primer gets it's fuel from the carb bowl and then sends it to the intake. Logic says to plug the hose that comes from the carb, and then cap the nipple that leads to the intake.

Carefully clean out the high speed jet at the bottom front of the carb. Leave the jet in place, and use a piece of heavy mono -- finish with carb spray using the plastic nozzle.

Cleaned with carb detail brush and then replaced with carb kit part. No improvement. (This was done 2-3 attempts ago)

Going to see if I can pull the priming plunger out of housing today. Any tips on not breaking it?

don't think you would get the jet in a carb kit. It's at the bottom front of the bowl.

Just pulled plunger and housing for primer apart. Cleaned both fitting nipples. Some crap in smaller one. Was missing o ring on shaft behind plunger handle. Put one back. Ran to the river quick. Ran same. Did notice it would wind up more when I held the plunger out just a crack. Any ideas with that?

Because you don't know if you've fixed it for sure....I'm not sure why you didn't temporarily eliminate it so as to rule it out completely. You do not need the primer to run only to cold start it better. Not sure your being complete when you go through tasks....which means your hoping.

I hate hope! I had the cover off and was pinching the line to the carb bowl off. Didn’t change anything.

If I’m not mistaken there is a detent on the primer valve and having the primer valve pulled out just a bit would let a bit of extra fuel in. Kinda of like having a choke plate partially closed on a very cold start sorta of day. If the extra fuel helps I would still be looking for blockage somewhere in the carb.
