Hello everyone, im a newbie to iboats so any help is greatly appreciated,

I recently picked up a 21' Crestliner Norseman with ford V8 302 and I'm working on restoring it. The hull and motor are in great shape but the transom boards are completely rotted (whoever did them last time didn't bother sealing them).
I was hoping that I wouldn't have to remove the outdrive and pull the motor to replace the transom plywood. I think I probably know the answer but is it possible to do this? If I do need to pull the outdrive how much of a pain is it (OMC Stringer)?
I will be posting pictures at some point.

If you are tearing it down, you'll have to pull the motor & outdrive. When you do, consider what the Ford~OMC Stringer is 'worth' in your area. They are both obsolete and part support can be difficult. They may be worth enough to someone else to warrant selling them off & re-powering your boat w/ a more modern driveline.

LOTS of great tin boat building going on over in the Starcraft forum, take a look at some of those threads. A great deal of it will translate to a Crestliner, perhaps not the layout or style of interior, but how it's put together & how to rebuild it. Here's a list of tin SC projects:
Starcraft Rebuilds and Restorations, they're all here!
