My 1985 Evinrude 70HP (E70TLCOS) has got a Problem. What it did about 6 months ago is it would start great, run strong for 20-30min., (or sometimes all day) and then go into funk mode and start to stall when just starting to come off idle and speed up--OR--it would just die at high speed and go down to idle and idle fine. What I have done is : 1) Rebuilt the fuel pump and replaced fuel filter and all fuel lines and installed new pulse limiter. Plugs are new and carbs were were rebuilt at a good maine dealer. To eliminate any other areas I also swapped out the portable fuel tank, fuel lines , and primer bulbs with new units. Just took it out with the old primer bulbs and tank--it died---swapped out with new tank and lines--it died again. Water pump output is very good. Thottle advance and ignition advance looks good also. When it dies @ WOT it acts like it is fuel starved but dies quick and I drop it to idle range and it idles fine. This one has got me as it is so intermittent. Any help would be appeciated.
P.S. not a VRO system. Also pumping primer bulb and /or hitting electric choke does not help---wow,what a pain.
