Hey JB that looks very nice! I really like that carpet you have.

Yeah ply is pricey this year, especially the high grade stuff. Going big on you pic here shows how nice it looks, photo bucket is the way to go for your photos.

Yep, no worries about Lead in that paint, but NO paint dust is good to breathe. I'd have a box fan or two with a furnace filter stuck to the back of it sitting in my garage door to try to vent and filter as much as I could

I do a lot of car painting and can tell you this. Any sort of dust is best addressed with a decent mask. By that I mean a nice soft plastic or rubber one and never those nasty cheap (not even cheap really) white dust masks . A good one for just dust is about 22bucks on Amazon. You can wear it for hours and it's really comfortable. As for paint it's a charcoal mask of the same type . For the hardened isocyonate paint like Imron you really aren;t supposed to do without outside air provided to the mask. Most everyone agrees however that using a brand new set of cartridges or double stacking them will keep you safe. Above all paint outside or at the least with the doors all open and a couple fans running pointed out, and the mask. Outside is the best and it's a boat not granhy's Vette.
I have the exact same boat 1985. Mine seems sound but I have a feeling the foam is waterlogged . I am going to pull the part of the deck behind the seat where the water sits the most . I sure would like to see any pix of that area or any other parts of the inner hull area. I don't want to do a major overhaul as the transom seems quite sound . Any pix most appreciated,

Getting closer! As you can see from the pics, I've got the boat hoisted up and will be pulling the trailer out in the morning to take to my friends shop where it will get sand blasted, primed and painted. Once the trailer returns, I'll paint the hull and put the motor back on. I finished putting in a wood backing piece on the console I bought. More to come.....

Have been busy on the boat the past few weeks. Got the trailer blasted and painted, looks great! Carpeted the entire boat and have started the first coat of top coat paint! Also pictured is when I strated the front deck extension using 1/8 1.5inch angle. It's completely done now and carpeted.
:joyous:

Re: 1984 Tracker Tournament V17 restoration

Just about done!
I do have a question though. I have a Yamaha 703 controller. I've already found the wiring codes for Yamaha. That' not the problem. I bought a trim gauge which I installed in the dash. On the actual control box are the light green and sky blue for trim up and trim down. However, it says trim sensor is orange. The only orange I can find is under the cowling on the actual motor. Do I have to somehow run a wire from that all the way to the dash?

The one pic is the only injury I sustained during the entire project! :) LOL

Trolling motor goes on this weekend! Down to putting on the new tracker decals and a few other odds and ends...I'll post more pics over the next few weeks.

Looking very nice!

Went back thru and reread, now with a question. What paint did you use and how did you apply it? Roller? Spray?

Almost done! The boat turned out better than expected! I'll post a video and detailed pics after I take it out next week for the first launch! Thanks for all the feedback everyone has given me! :)
