1984 force 125 fuel pump question?

I installed a new fuel pump and did some other work as well and first day of running it full for 5 hours it tore again? what would cause it to tear like that?

i ordered this one so it would be on one day shipping

I just bought the new diaphragm from amazon will be here tomorrow but i installed the other diaphragm like a month ago why would it tear on first trip

Some of the products your buying could be 10-20 years old.
One tiny backfire or cough can cause the diaphragm to rip.
If you have reoccurring problem?? install 2 diaphragms in the pump.
Like Racer said, use the Mercury products.
