We are having trouble getting the engine to start at all. We recently removed the VRO pump because we were told we do not need it and it was leaking. Does the VRO pump also act as the fuel pump? And if so, are there certain parts of the pump that we can remove and other parts we can't?
Thanks

it was leaking the mixture of fuel and oil. I forgot to mention that we mix the fuel with oil seperately.

VRO pump mixes the fuel and oil and pumps it to the carbs. Are you saying that you have removed the whole thing ??? if so you do not have a fuel pump at all right now.
Photo of what is currently in place would be a huge help.

yes we removed the whole thing because it was leaking. What is the best way to replace it or fix it?

This is the only place I know of with parts for VRO.

...and Ken is right...sounds like you don't even have a fuel pump right now. You'll need to either repair/replace your VRO, or retrofit with standard fuel pump and start running pre-mix fuel.

Either with a new OMS pump or a premix pump heavy enough to do the job. It can not start without a fuel pump unless you manually supply gas/oil mix to the cylinders. Check the "Top Secret Files" at the top of page #1 and use the search function to learn a little more about the system. I would also suggest an OEM manual of the motor.
