If you're confirming your earlier post of saying a vacuum leak does not increase rpm then yes, you really do not know how a naturally aspirated engine works.
Read my post.. a MAJOR vacuum disonnect from intake source should not cause a LARGE jump in rpm's ( a big jump in rpm's caused from excess air/atmosphere means engine/carb. is running way too rich)..I have 2 completed 70 GTO"s here.. to confirm..both are tuned perfectly..a large intake vac. source disconnect does not cause a jump in rpm's just a pretty rough idle ( wayyy too lean).Turn your mixture screws all the way in on a perfectly adjusted carb. Runs crappy, right?..why? too lean?..Maybe marine carbs behave differently..I don't know..probably not.. the logic is there though..so I guess I don't know..

Wow, you're still stuck on the auto stuff, it's great you've managed to acclaim some self pride though cars

You can keep posting useless info about your success however it cannot change science and the fact a vacuum leak increases rpm. Lovely pre DeLorean cars BTW. But if you have never owned/worked on a Vauxhall you know absolutely nothing about GM, associated companies, nor any components related to their products

Can't know enough about engines and boats. Glad to hear your advice seek on this forum is finished. I do provide factual information based on what I know, have experienced, and confirmed in real life about boats, boating and most important science and life on planet earth

After your adventure outside everything humankind has learned from this ball of confusion perhaps you will actually enjoy boating, your choice in automobiles would consider otherwise but there is always hope. Good luck, citizen

dubs, are you proving your expertise by picking fights over small things? Putting people down is not fun for anyone but you.

Just so those interested for future reference.. seems I found the problem!.. One of the primary jets not tightened all the way down..Jeez! Allowing extra fuel in bowl at times. Go figure...re tightened both and now have no leaking from the primaries..also vacuum is back to normal as it should be.. not running rich and idle mixture screws and "ALL vacuum" work properly as they should!.. Thanx most all for the help!
