Good question, sorry, really should have posted up some more details on that....

For this I wanted a less textured look so I rolled it. Spraying would have given far more texture and used a lot more material as well.

Overall, at the moment, I am liking how this turned out.

AOK guys, the past few months have been way busy but I finally got back to work on this ol hull.

Those of you who have checked out my past projects know I'm not afraid to try new things. Well check this out...

For the past couple of weeks I've been slowly working on the hull bottom and stern. I really liked the way the Jet Star turned out with the "brushed" alum look so I wanted to do that here too. Man, it's a lot of work but I do like it.

Now, for the paint...

So far I've tried a bunch of paint methods and techniques (including paying a professional) and my results have been about 50/50. Some good, some not great (including the pro job).

I've been seeing the Diesel Brothers guys building their trucks using Line X Body Armor, pretty cool...

Seems like a lot of guys are going this route on hard working trucks and Jeeps. I suppose a hard working boat could probably do the same!

Well, Line X was out of the question, waaayyyy too expensive. So I narrowed it down to Monstaliner and Raptor Liner as I can apply these myself. I ended up going with Raptor...

10 year old Ryan got to pick the color, I think it's Firebird Red or something like that. He also wanted flames painted on the sides, we won't go there.

I have narrowed to two possible directions for the stern deck and splashwell area. I'll be sure to post up as I go along. I'm looking forward to gaining back a whole bunch of space back there:thumb:

So, how about just a bit of time on this Sea Nymph, aok!

The stern of this boat will be modified pretty heavily. I aim to recover a whole bunch of space taken up by the giant splashwell.

Fist up is cutting the transom to full width.

I had the transom all laminated so I went ahead and dropped that in place for a dry fit. I marked for the cut too...

I also modified the original "shelf" which will now serve as the splashwell, then a quick dryfit...

Then I made a big cut out and dry fit again...

You'll see that I basically took the transom cap and cut it in half and slid it out to the sides. When I actually install this I'll grab some C channel and cover the middle section.

All this rough fitting is coming together pretty well. That transom just got it's first coat of epoxy and is curing as I write this out.

Yah, I'll score a fair amount of important square footage back there which should make this boat much more comfortable.

Nope, that new (repurposed) shelf turned splashwell will land right where the old splashwell was which makes my life a bit easier:becky:

Hello fellas! It has been a good long while and I have had a few projects come and go, glassers find their way to their final resting place (a good thing!). Anyhow, I thought I'd swing by with a quick update this Sea Nymph thread. The boat is done, in a sense. Flotation, paint, rubrails, deck, nautolex, splashwell, stern and bow decks, bilge pump, livewell, fuel tank, trailer stuff, on, and on, and on...... We really wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas this year and decided to spend a couple weeks in FL. Man was that nice! This Sea Nymph made the trip there and back with us and it was sweet. The boat ran beautifully. For this trip I decided to just keep it as a tiller so I mounded a very nice Honda 50 hp four stroke. I really wanted to see if I preferred the tiller version of this boat. I didn't, so, I just sold the Honda tiller this past weekend. This project will finish out as a side console so that will get built in by the time the spring walleye run. Overall this boat has tons of deck space, good storage, big livewell is really nice......everything is tight, tough, functional, durable....just what a solid fishing boat should be. Couldn't be happier! I don't really keep track of my builds anymore but I have uploaded proof that this boat fishes!! Hope you guys are all doing well!
