1983 Evinrude 70hp shift rod height

Hi! I have an 83 Evinrude 70 and although I've owned a manual for years I can't find it anywhere. I replaced my water pump and don't think I turned my shift rod, but I need to be sure of the measurement before reinstalling. Can anyone give me the correct measurement for it? I have seen similar ones at 21 23/32 from flange to center of hole, but I am about a 1/16 long for that. The model is: E70ELCTE

Well ---21-23/32" is correct.----Measured with lower unit in neutral.----It MUST be set at that height !
