1983 evinrude 115 mystery hose

Just picked up an 83 115 and am about to start going through it and get it ready to power my pontoon. After looking I've noticed this hose and cannot figure out what it goes to. My 78 and 79 85 do not have this any help is appreciated.

It is to provide pressure to a speedometer.----Simple as that.----I believe that lower unit is a replacement and not an original to 1983.

Should I cap it? Honestly can't tell where it runs once it goes into the midsection

So do I need to do anything with the line or leave it like it is?

???--Plug that hole.----Plug the wee hole on the forward edge of the gearcase.----Throw the hose away.----Use your phone to see how fast you are going through the waves.
