Congrats on your find!

Thanks! I'm really beginning to think this is quite rare. I have it listed on two sites to see if anyone has ever seen one or has any info on it and no one so far has even seen one.

Sweet! I just bought the same Sportcraft in Ohio. It also is a 1983. Have you used it yet? Take care.

Re: 1983 9' Sportcraft (Li'l Sport??)

Just curious if anyone has seen one of these little boats and if they have any info on it. It's 9' x 4'. I can't find anything on it when I search the hull ID number or in NADA. Curious if it has any value. Thanks!

Ship it over to Oops. He'll cut it in half, add 10' to the middle and drop in a 454 to make her run. Now that would make it unique :D:D

Wow, I am glad I found this thread. I actually have the original mold for this boat and will be manufacturing this boat very soon. I had one of these boats when I was 9 years old and I enjoyed it so much my dad bought me the mold (very lucky!) at the same time just in case I was really into boats, which I am of course still today at 27. Of course there are small changes to make everything up to date. Been lining things up for years to produce these boats and market them towards kids so look for these at your local show very soon! Here are some pics of my boat 18 years ago!

Mid '80s from the old out-of-business Sportcraft. I found it on NADA in the 1985 version, with an average price of about $560. The weight they give seems way, way wrong, though. They have the weight as 850 lb. No way.

I looked at '84-86, and it was listed in all those years. I didn't go further, though.

I imagine that they're rare as hen's teeth, though. Would be a great toy! :D

I used to check NADA quite a lot, mostly for weights on outboards. When tey went to the new format, I noticed the weights they reported became extremely unreliable. Don't really know about boat weghts, but that definitely sounds wrong. My 17 ft Lund Explorer weighs 850.

Guess, it's been a while since I checked this thread. Very interested to see what you will sell your boats for MattConrad and if you could let us know when they are in production. Also if anyone else has purchase one of these curious as to the price.

i have one of these boats and I am going to get some pictures up on here soon. It has twin 8 horse Yamahas and it hauls ***! The boat is all original, accept the widened transom for the twins. The boat is in mint condition. The motors are 87 models and have only been ran about twenty times on a pond near my house. The boat was sitting inside of a guys house for almost twenty years, until he gave it to me. He bought it brand new in 1983 and the motors from 87 and now its all together and awesome! So much fun!!!

It's been almost a year since I started this thread, glad to see others that have this same boat posting. Still would like to know why they don't show up in NADA, was it a prototype for the later model? Here are some more pics of mine from this past summer.

The one I have is 44" beam and 103" long. No identification on it and is a dead ringer for the boat everyone has desribed and pictured. No windshield on this one but holes are there where windshield was.

Do you own this boat? If so, lucky, lucky you![/QUOTE]

I do own the green boat. Purchased it last May. It sure gets the looks and it's a great marina boat.

Would love to have the boat in Ocala, looks to be in pretty good shape too.

Re: 1983 9' Sportcraft (Li'l Sport??)

here are the pictures of my 1983 sportcraft took last summer in our local pond. the boat is pretty much brand new since it never saw water other than the handfull of times that i took it to this pond. my buddy i got it from bought it in 1983 at a boat show an bought two 8 horse yamahas for it in 1987. up until 2008 when i got the boat and built it with the two twins the boat and the motors were still brand new and never used. the motors are electric start and the controls are early johnson controls that i polished and customized inside to fit the yamaha cables. those are also special ordered in 1987 because they didnt make a 6 foot cable at the time. this boat is so awsome and i love it to death. everybody wants to buy it and i wont sell it cause of its rarety.

What I like is from a little distance with no reference point it could pass for a larger boat .
Its not a small boat but a creation of a big boat in minature.
