1983 35 2 Stroke merc. water pump?

when i start the motor water doesnt circulate through the pump im guessing. How hard is it to replace the water pump, or how much would it cost to have someone fix it.

its not very hard, remove the lower leg pry the water pump cover off slide in new impeller put back together. easy as pie

Your problem might be as simple as a clogged up teltale hose,(pee tube).disconnect it and see if water is flowing!
