Hate to see the Sea Nymph go to a new home, but you can whip out another 16 footer in no time. That boat served you well post Jet Star, and if it got you in your dream rig for no money down, then its all worth it in my book.

I can tell you are pumped, so fist bump!

Really happy for you!

Bob, as an I/O fanatic

Yah, I'm not quite into the fanatic stage but for us up here in the great lakes I think the IO is the way to go. Now, don't get me wrong, twin E Tec's on a bracket would be so sweet! But something like that is for the rich man, and I'm not.

I do believe I'll be on the hunt for a big fat glasser, all rotted out and nasty, with a nice 5.7 in her. Or, if somehow I could stumble on a late model 4.3 MPI (220 hp range), that would be pretty sweet too!

Wow what a boat,

Yah, I'm loving it! Having visions of big water dancing in my head......

Thanks Jenn for letting Jason live

Yah, she's pretty awesome! With all the boats I've brought home she has said...

"That is the ugliest boat I have ever seen in my whole life!"

She didn't say that this time! HA!

Wonder where they are??

Rare birds my friend, very rare! Man am I glad I scored one!

...easily a 20 rattle-can hull

Actually, on this one, you'll be seeing a little more bare alum than paint:thumb:

I think this one is gonna keep you busy for quite a while for sure.

You got that right, this one isn't going anywhere!

Wow is all I can say, congrats. This will be a cool build to follow.

Nice score Jason! Looking forward to following another epic thread!

Thanks guys! Well, there won't be much to follow for a while though. I may spend a little time here and there on tear down but the real building part is a long way out.

I can't wait to see pictures of this one turtled,

Ha! Yah, idunno if this one is going to make it up side down. The tip method might be about as good as it gets here.

there was a lot of love put into that seanymph. I'm happy for you.

Yah, that was hard, but it's all good.

to finish up the miniscule Islander?

Ha, yah! When I was working on her this morning she did feel a little small actually.

How far was the tow?

So, let me know your price on the 470.

He was in Grand Rapids area and I was in Midland - we met half way for the swap. I really wanted to do it that way so I KNEW the trailer could handle the load. The last thing I wanted to do was show up only to find her sitting on a trashed trailer. That would have been a huge waste.

Bah, shipping on that 470 would be $$$.

Nice boat or should we call this one a ship? ;-)

Yah man, she is almost intimidating she is so big. Not quite, but almost.

I can tell you are pumped, so fist bump!

Really happy for you!

Thanks broham! Someday, when she is a finished up and floating on a big lake, you'll need to swing by for a trip:joyous:

Jas, I can take care of shipping. I've got an account with YRC freight. I would take care of that. You would pay nothing(except wood, etc... to put on pallet, drain water/oil/etc...).
I'll see how much that shipping would be. You would just need to put it on a pallet(strapped...etc).

And do you have a way to put it on a eighteen-wheeler? Anyway, you can PM me if you would consider this. I'm not excited about spending money...but, it wouldn't hurt to have a spare one for parts, etc...

Very nice. Will be following along. I know how overwhelming a boat that size can be. I am working on an engine replacement on a sea ray 250 Sundancer and just getting in it is a chore. Not to many aluminum boat here in the salty waters of the NJ coast. Good luck. I got a 5.7 in my Invader its a great power plant and they are cheap and plentiful so that would be the way to go.

Over in the Islander thread you drew Photoshop cut lines to make a MegaSS open bow out of this one. Are you serious or just trying rouse the rabble?

Glad you finally found the Biggun, Jas.

Nice score Jason, man that's a huge boat where do you start, not many of those around and a lot less rebuilder's that would even think of tackling such a mammoth project. good luck on this one Jason, looking forward to following along.

Awesome Jason, I believe that is called trading up.

You might need one of these just to get in it.

But I am sad to see that you may cut the top off the Islander :(
Maybe give it some thought first. An over the winter kind of pause.

Now I finally know why you posted the vid with your new pneumatic rivet gun..:D

Hate to see the SN go after all the fantastic work you put into her.. The new owner has one fine custom SN..

I think the trade was well worth it. You have 3 times the boat now.. Can't wait to see how well this one is going to turn out..

If I lived near you I would love to help on this one..

OK, so technically I have worked on this 261. I've just grabbed some stuff and started chucking them out of the boat. I wasn't supposed to be working on this boat though:facepalm:

The kiddos love hanging out in this huge tub! They play this man overboard game. One of them falls overboard and the other two try and hoist em up to safety, they are pretty funny...

Here's some perspective on how big she is...

I've also been trolling clist for the sacrificial glasser that will someday give up the goods for this boat. These are too expensive yet but you get the idea of what I'm after...

You could mount the cabin from the 22 footer and make it an aft cabin. Paint it yellow and poof, shes a school bus. :watermelon:

The cabin is HUGE. The cockpit is HUGE. The whole thing is HUGE. You better get a pallet of Rusto spray bombs. That's just for accent color, no idea how much Sharkhide!

Gi-freaking-normous tin you got there! Fantastic find, would you like to adopt my LiL Chief and use it for a diny? A couple of gantry cranes on one side would hold it in case you needed to go to shore for lunch.

I'm on board with ya. Be thinking of going with at least the 5.7 MC and put in through the transom exhaust with diverters.
