Time again for the weekly update. I didn't get much time to work on the boat over the weekend, I had to knock off some chores to keep the admiral happy. I did manage to make a cover for my fuel fill line this afternoon and I started polishing the aluminum on the sides but quickly stopped when I had a hard time wiping the black off of the grey paint. I guess I should get a coat of wax on the paint first.
Anyway, here are the pics.

Ah yeah the fuel filler line bump out looks good. Is it attached with rivets or screws?

No and when I read this I realized I should have. Funny, most everything else I tapped and screwed except this. Just wanted to get it done I guess. There is access under the console to get to the hose clamps but not enough to see if the proper hose is installed.

Well that made no sense although I'm sure you got it that I didn't use screws and did rivet it in there. Shouldn't reply when I am rushed and distracted. I can always fix it later if it's an issue or should I do it before I splash?

Chances are you'll never have to worry about it, I'd leave it the way it is.

Good way to cover that fuel hose looks great

Thanks for stopping in John. Other than mounting the motor some wiring, steering cable and lights that is the boat done. No more fabrication left to do. Yay!

Sounds to me like someone has a short list!

This year has started out slow for splashes but it's shaping up to be a big year for the old SC boats returning to the waves. Looking forward to seeing your SS cutting a wake.

Installed a led spotlight today. I wanted it to be removable so I only needed to put it on if I was going to be out after dark. To do this I installed a 12v deck outlet and attached a plug to the spotlight. Then I cut the heads off of some 1/4 inch stainless bolts and put a locking nut on the underside and a regular nut on top, of course 5200 in the hole since it's through the bow support. The spotlight is the tightened down with threaded knobs.

That's some nice work and that spotlight will come in handy when beaching or docking too.

Thanks Rob, I almost didn't install it but the thought off docking at my launch where there is no light made it an easy decision.
I was hoping to get a lot more done on days off but only polished the aluminum and got the boat back on the trailer. The bunks were too high and the rollers too low and the adjustment on the brackets didn't work out as they were right at the transition. After hours of mucking around I finally got it all fitted but had to move the bunks out and get the rollers to carry some weight, which I didn't intend to do.
The aluminum doesn't look very shiney in the pic as its reflecting the concrete floor.

Heading out to the trailer for 4 days on Thursday so not going to get much done thus week. When I get back I'll drill the holes in the transom for the reinforcement bolts that will attach to the angle on the splashwell, drill the pass through for the steering cable under the dash and mount the motor.

I think she looks great on the new ride :thumb:

Yeah getting the power installed is a milestone, I'll be looking forward to some future videos of the 120 firing off. :)

So back from the trailer and still have today and tomorrow off before foing back to work. I got the steering cable installed today and am ready to tackle the wiring which leads me to a question for you guys.
Am I right in assuming that the red, green and blue coming from the throttle handle connect to the red green and blue from the wires coming from the engine? If so does the white wire coming from the engine go to the trim guage and black to Neg bus?
Also, therebare the purple grey and black coming from the rear of the controls. Is the purple for accessories that run when the ignition is on? Which accessories other than guages do you want only turning on with the ignition? Is the grey for the tach?
The bottom pic from left to right, wires from throttle, wires from back of control box and the 5 wires from the engine.

Does the t and t from the handle go through the sidewall? Lastly, what wire goes to the volt meter?
Sorry for all the questions guys, I'm not very good at the electrical/mechanical aspect of the rebuild.

Your rebuild is looking grand Rob. I really like the storage between the consoles. That spotlight must really light up the night.

Thanks Terry. I haven't tried the spotlight in the data yet but it was pretty bright in the garage when it was light out. Will see how good it is in the dark if I ever get my wiring sorted.
