Still a nice hull. How about a Mercruiser or outboard conversion? Maybe find a trashed donor boat with a serviceable drivetrain in it?

Money is always the hurdle isn't it

I'm going to try for the Chevy motor (remember I had two at the start of this)
It has unknown hours on it, but it doesn't have a gaping hole in the side of a cylinder so it does have that one advantage.

Got a price quote today for 250$ to sleeve that cylinder and put everything back together with a bottom end warranty. I think i'm going to do that (and stick with the Ford)

Motor is at the machine shop, going to find out shortly what the story is and what the costs are.

Block was wrecked. Wasn't just a crack in Cylinder #7, all the water jackets on that entire side of the block were shot, rusted almost through.
New block and 700$ later.......

Couple of races, journals, bearings, zerx fittings, metal casings, seals and some driveshafts. That is the only thing in an outdrive besides the raw water impellor and the Gear sets.
I mean they aren't that "unique", in fact the only thing really unique about my Stringer 800 is ball gear versus U-joint.

I mean when this thing is on there its gonna kick *** and chew bubble gum regardless, and for years. I'm not too concerned about it at all.

If you're not I'm not.

I'd just hate to see after all the money and effort going into this, you take it out a couple times and the ramafratz breaks and it's an impossible to find part and you're stuck in dry dock.

On your video posts, Try this... Copy the URL from the YouTube video, i.e. click your video after you upload it and use the address in the address bar. Copy that, and then when you update your post, click the film strip above the window of your reply and "embed" the video" into your post...
