Took the boat out fishing last week - had to work at getting it to go over 5 mph. Opening the throttle would cause it to stall and almost die out -tried this several times and it finally took off like a rocket and ran fine. Here are my findings and PM accomplished:

Compression check all 4 cyls @ 135 psi

Removed and cleaned both carbs - .082 main jets installed, . 092 vent jets installed (existing ).Checked float levels OK.

Set timing 2 deg. ATDC @ idle 27 deg BTDC full speed.

Replaced fuel pump diaphragms and cracked hose at carb - was not leaking.
Checked fuel pickup tube in tank OK. No leaks from tank to fuel pump or hoses.

Idle mixture 1 1/4 turns open.

Motor starts right up on earmuffs/water hose and will not stumble - this problem will only occur under load. Can see wisp of fuel coming from venturi's when throttling up.

Plugs like brand new - not fouling. Fuel fresh 50:1 mix with octane boost added.

Am I missing something ?? Please help

Dis you take the carbs apart, clean and reassemble with new gaskets, needle and seat? You can stop wasting your money on octane booster. Your motor does not need it.
