I got a boat from my uncle who is no longer with us. It is a 1981 evenrude 115 hp, i dont know alot about 2 stroke engines. I took it out the other day couse here in texas it was 72 degrees. I think he had this boat as a project boat but i never knew he was into fixing things since he never did. I looked at the engine and it lookes like alot of it half *** done, dont know if it was him or the guy that owned it before him. Well i got it to fire up but it took a while, it idles really high and has a fuel filter you get from like a auto zone, it also has a electrical fuel pump hooked up on the outside. Well when i took it out i tried to gun it to the max and it would go for about a min or less then die. It would take another min or two to fire it back up. i changed the plugs, plug wires. Also i want to get the gauges working does anyone know how to wire it. anyone with any help or ideas i would be greatfull, i dont have alot of money so im gona do this my self.
And how much would it cost or a round number to get this thing rebuilt. I will upload pics of the motor tomorrow there is a lot about it that just doesnt look like it was done right or close to.

When doing serivce work, there is no substitute for a factory service manual. You can get an original factory manual from Ken Cook Co., in Milwaukee. They are also on the web.

Welcome to iboats.

Please re-read the rules we are strict about emails in the forum.

Yes a true OEM service manual is your best investment.

You can get three manuals for your engine from the OEM, Ken Cook. A parts list (you can get it free online) the operator's manual (you don't need it) and the service manual-that's what you need.
