1980 glass marlin 17 ft

Hi people
I have recently just purchased the above boat, I love it, it has a great shape and plenty of character. However I'm finding little to none information regarding it's history, I am about to restore her back to her former glory and I have been trying to access old pics to get some ideas however apart from the odd one for sale on trading sites I'm getting nothing!

Any ideas??

Welcome to iboats Dry Dock,

This question gets asked a lot here and often there is little information available for many boats out there for the simple reason, there were tons of small boat companies in the 70's and 80's, many of which had limited production and 99% are no longer in business. But this will not affect your restore as most all of them are built about the same way.

Post some pictures of her and lets see the slate we have to work with.

The clearer photos are a boat almost identical. in one of the photos you can see rot that i only just discovered, it looks bad and is spread over a meter on the walk about Ii guess ill have to pull all the rot out and insert a new piece?
I went over the rest of the boat with a fine tooth comb and that seems to be the only spot. i was thinking of inserting kauri? i have access to this . any ideas??
