1979 johnson seahorse

Well im back! Last time I was on I was asking about my boat surging and I had the carb rebuilt and it ran great for about 2 weeks. Now my primer ball keeps losing prim, and the boat will act like its running out of gas. I bought new gas tank and new johnson fuel line but I used a seasense fitting to put into gas tank and the fitting that comes out of the motor has a lot of play ( about a 1/4 in up and down ) and when you move it you can hear air coming out. Could this be the problem?

Air leaks are not good.

Does it have a vent that you did not open?

Try by-passing the fitting and see how it runs.

Ya ive ran it with the vent open and closed. maybe the fuel pump?
