Hello boaters,
I just bought a nice 1979 glastron cvx carlson 140 omc stringer. I am a first time boater so any help would be appreciated. I have taken the boat out
3 times and it does the same thing each time. Here goes: 1st time took it out for about an hour. Starts fine idles fine and drove fine fast, slow. This baby cruises but when we came in put on the trailer it died and would start up fine but when put into forward or reverse gear it would die out. Second time out did the same thing after about 2 hours out on the lake. 3rd time same thing after about 2 1/2 hours on the lake. Seems like something heats up and causes this to happen. Again starts up just fine idles fine but does not like being put into gear so dies out after being in the water for a couple hours. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the shift interupt switch.

Where is that located and how would a person check to see if it is faulty.
Thanks

Do you have any idea of what could be happening to my 79 Glastron?
