1979 6 hp johnson fuel pump capatability

I have a 79' 6 hp johnson and when i look up a fuel pump here iboats it only list one for all 6 hp 1992 and prior. However other sites show a 79' being different then say an 84 or 85....so are they interchangable?????

is there anyone out there familiar with these fuel pumps......There has got to be a tech out there that has delt with this before.
