1979 25hp johnson seahorse

i have a 25 johnson seahorse 1979. When i get to full throttle my motor acts if its running out of gas. Ive got a new tank, new johnson fuel line and have checked all my fuel line for holes or cracks to make sure gas wasn't leaking out. Im kinda of stuck. any ideas on what it might be? Thanks for any advice.

Ya it will run good in low speed and then when i get to full speed it starts acting up

take the carb off and clean it real good, paying extra attention to the high jet, go to marineengine.com they have a exploded view of your carb, replace anything you find as far as gaskets o-rings, washers if the look bad. reinstall and most likely you will be in business. keep us posted.

Also try pumping the fuel line bulb when it acts up. If that helps, could be a weak fuel pump.

So I took the boat to the mechanic to get carb kit put on and cleaned and we put the motor on his tank and the motor doesnt surge. Im still having kit put on it but I thought it was weird. Could it be my fuel line is to long and curls in the boat?

Your first post said the problem occurs at WOT, and I assume you ran it on a boat. Perhaps it needs a load on it? It may not be apparent in the tank. Take him for a ride.

Put the kit on the carb and bingo. She purrs like a kitten. thanks to all who helped.
