Awesome job, your boat is going to be far better than factory, hope to see it finished

Me too! I'm on a mission to get it painted before it snows. Left work at 10am today (half day) and already got some stuff done!

Are you going to paint it yourself or get it painted by someone, not sure about how to paine mine yet, thinking about using interlux and painting it myself

A friend of a friend is painting it. He has a shop with a booth.

Mocked up the rear seat tonight, the 2x4 represents approximately the bottom cushion thickness.

Anyone know how much space should be between each cushions wood bottom/back? I'm thinking 1/4" total?

On another note , this will be my switch panel, laser cut out of a piece of brushed stainless steel.

To balance out the other side I was thinking 3 pieces brushed stainless again with the numbers/letters laser cut so they would show red. The laser cutting will be a freebie!

What do you think? Too bold???

Looks great! I love the full rear bench you have mocked up. That's exactly what I've been thinking about doing but was unsure how to keep access to the bilge. The stainless numbers and letters are really going to set it off!

Are you planning on hinging the seats? I think that will determine the space between the bottom and back cushion.

The laser cut panel and lettering is cool. If the letter panels seem to be too much maybe use the cut out letters. Either way is gonna be the bomb!

Agreed, both will be very nice accents!

I'd vote for applying 1/8" thick SS letter/numbers on a field of red

As an alternate, even thinner stock w/ the letter cutouts & revealing red

Is there a slight recess on the glovebox where you've got the 22 SS V5 mocked up? If so, that reverses my vote

1st choice: Thick enough stock to just 'fill' the recess w/ cutout letters revealing the red. But as an alternate, still only @ 1/8" letters if you're applying them directly to the field of red.

:)

Yes, there is 3 recesses in the glove box door. Originally there were 3 faux wood grain panels in there.

I never even thought of just putting the individual letters/numbers in there...

Hmmmmmm.....

Sure you don't want to go back w/ the faux wood grain?

Maybe get a Sears jammin' 8-track to hang below the glovebox...

Yeah, ok,

Maybe not....

New gas filler made for $45. I'll grind the welds, soften the edges and powder coat it black. The original plastic one is very brittle and cracked.

Redoing my bow seating wood today. The original hatch had this piano hinge mounted on top.

Seems I've seen a piano hinge before like this that would mount on the bottom.

Can any help me out here? Does this exist, what's it called, and where would I find them? I plan on carpeting the panel and hatch door.

Run a quick check on eBay. I picked up a stack of those in stainless, two different sizes cheap too!
