1979 140HP Chrysler Outboard Newbie Questions

I recently purchased a boat that with a 1979 Chrysler 140HP, the boat and the engine were rebuilt in 2002. The engine looks and runs great and I would like to keep it that way(maintenace books are on the way). I took it out in salt water and when I came back I flushed in by running it nuetral for about 10 mins in a large bucket of water. Since this is kind of a pain, I'm wondering if there are muff's out there that might fit this large outboard.

Also, the guy I bought it from said it probaly needs the lower gear grease/oil changed. Is this fairly simple to accomplish or should I take it in for service?
