Curious if my 1978 mercury 2000 has a relief (poppet) valve on it? I havent been able to find a replacement part for it but the block looks like it has one. I found a kit for V6 mercurys but didnt show one for a 78, anybody have any insight on this?
Crowleymarine.co shows a "relief valve" for Merc 200 from '78 thru '88. It doesn't show a rebuild kit, however, they should be avail at any Merc dealer.
