I hope someone can help. I need to know where the wires go on my ignition unit. I only have five wires, purple, black, red, black/yellow and yellow. There are six pins on the unit and I don't know which one is not used.

Find the model # on the transom bracket and post that so the gurus can help you.

When you say ignition unit, are you talking about your ignition switch ??

If you mean the ignition switch, they are as follows:

Black = M
Black/yellow = other M
Purple = A
Yellow with red stripe = S
Red with purple stripe = B

EDIT: Corrections made. I was looking at the wrong diagram. Sorry

Ensure that you have a connection between the black and yellow-black wires when the key is in off-position. The key switch should connect the both M terminals in the off position.
