Cant remember color exaclty but yes it is rustoleum. And yes it def runs a bit.. had to sand a couple spots and repaint.. so not just you

Another late night in the books. Got the gas tank completely hooked up and tested. All of the main flooring is riveted down. Tonight is the last night I have until I go to Saginaw Friday after work. Wont be able to get her 100% done but itll be close. The fish dont care if shes done or not =) Ill be able to button the rest of her up over the weekend. And Ill do that with a full nights sleep! I threw some vinyl down just to see what it would look like and I had a HUGE smile on my face. Cant wait to get that glued down and the consoles in tonight! The floors got a little dirty from me walking all over them. I did wipe them down last night and will do that again tonight before I glue anything down.

Lol! Yes I do, and in my livewell and in buckets, and on my freezer, anddd the floor.. very hard to get in and out of the boat 50 times it wears on you so I just left as much as I can in the boat. Big downside to having the one stall :-( I hate working like that its exhausting but not much choice.

Heh, I hear ya. I looked at a house yesterday with a puddle for a pond, and a 22x22 shop on a 2.3 acre lot with a 1780 sq/ft three bay garage home.

I was in love until the price per sq ft went over $183!

At least us iboaters are living the dream!

We have been looking at houses but havent quite found what we want. Trying to find a nice house on a lake (that I like to fish on, not just ANY lake) and with a decent piece of land. Just havent found anything yet

Thank you OI. I feel that I wouldnt be as motivated as I am if I wasnt trying to finish this for a "good cause". Only thing really pushing me now as Im running on fumes at this point.

Watermann I remember you saying wiring up the tach was easy and you said to wire it up to my control box. Not sure if you noticed but seeing I didnt know what the drain tubes were called I also dont know what the control box is lol. Is that the part with the throttle and ignition switch? And if that is it.. how the heck do I get all the wires in there? Did you drill into it or is there a hole I can push the wires through?

My Merc controls have the tach wire in them and a plug out the front for ground, power and tach. The tach needs switched power from the controls as does the fuel gauge.

I'm not sure about your set up with motor and controls and what was on the dash for gauges to begin with?

I thought a saw an old Evinrude power pilot on your gunnel in one of your earlier pics.

Some have an external plug which you can buy ($$) a cable to connect directly to your tachometer (3 conductors: signal, power/accessories and common-ground). If you don't have the external connector -or- you're cheap like me, you can always crack open the controller and tap into the wires. Grey is the tach signal, Purple is your accessories and black is ground.









I hope that takes away some of the mystery!

Do you have a step by step for dummies on a thread somewhere? I have the exact controls as you and might want to follow the process. Any idea what the plug costs?

Ill post some pics later. But I wont be able to get out tomorrow. I guess working 20 hours a day for a week has gotten to me. I got the vinyl down and didnt want to get it all dirty so I took one of my shoes off.. I dunno what happened but I have the worst charlie horse in my leg and I cant really move it. Too painful to continue on tonight..

And classicat I hope I never have to see the insides of that control box again. I wired in an ignition wire awhile back so my fuel gauge and light would only turn on with the key turned. Theres a ball and spring under the throttle lever and it took me a good part of 45min to an hour to get it back in there.

While cracking open the controls, be sure to do 2 things. Clean all the old grease out and replace with fresh grease, I used QS 24C. Update your controls by adding a kill switch with floating lanyard!

Im back! I wasnt able to go out last weekend.. Couldnt get boat finished up on time and I tweaked my leg pretty bad. Took the weekdays off last week to heal up a bit but Im back at it now. Got the consoles mounted and the windows mounted along with new vinyl and carpet on the boards on the back of the consoles. Overall, I think it looks pretty nice =) I will eventually make new tops for the consoles as mine are kind of beat up. Another small project I can easily do over the winter and then I will probably put some carpet or vinyl over them. I had to widen the consoles quite a bit to get the new windows to fit. The ends look kind of off right now but Ill be covering all of that up to make it look nice. These windows are 5 inches taller and I cant remember how much wider but if I remember right they are 72? inches across which makes them fit just about perfectly with the wider console tops.

Nice job on posting in your thread pntbtrjllytme, lot of good ideas, thanks for posting so much. Would recommend you put your indeck battery up front in a plastic battery box so as it will not leak and corrode the aluminum underneath it. Am guessing you have one and the pictures posted were just for test fitting purposes.

Boat looks great though, appreciate you sharing!
