The water pickup fell out. there is a collar on one end of the pick up tube. Does the collar end go in the power head or in the water pump end? Should I put grease or any sealer when putting it back in?

water is not coming out of the block?
So there is a handful of things it could be. If you only replaced the impeller it could be the housing base plate gaskets grommets on the housing or in the bottom of the engine block. If you installed the impeller in the correct rotational direction. If the old impeller shredded apart there could also be pieces of it lodged in the cooling system blocking the water flow.

Run a piece of weed whacker line as far up the tell tale as you can. It's a favorite place for bugs.

Important think is running temp. If you can hold your hand on top of the block, temp is probably OK (warm to touch). The water from the tell tale does not circulate through the engine -- indicates only that the water pump is pushing water up to the head.

Water tube goes into a grommet at the powerhead (top) and at a grommet at the water pump (bottom). Take care not to bend over part of the grommet (or collar) as that will block flow.

Thank You I know where the pipe goes. On one end of the pipe there is a collar. Does the collar end go in the engine or the water pump? Does it matter?
