Re: 1977 Cajun Rebuild

I am in the same boat, doing major glass repairs for the first time.....

I found a tidbit about measuring everything before your start cutting,ie structural so you know if your boat is sagging during the rebuild. It looks like most have done this with a trailer that fits the boat well. I she's not sitting well on the bunks it may twist or warp during the removal of the structural glass.

Look forward to seeing your progress

Hi Mitch,

Ask all the questions you need too...remember, there are no dumb questions, only dumb mistakes from not asking questions...

Best way to post pics is with a FREE Photobucket account...load up your pics there, click on the IMG tag and post your pics here when you reply to post...

Depending on how your trailer is set up...you might be OK if the hull is properly supported by the bunks, just make sure you use something to hold the shape of the hull when/if you pull the cap off...like straps or boards...similar to what I did with mine...

if you need to build a support for the hull there are a bunch of ways to do it...
Just as a thought , this is how I did mine...

And when you say three days, do you mean for the complete restoration??? If you do it in three days, you will be the all time super-duper iboats restoration champion and will have earned the respect of even the most experienced here on the iboats forum...heck we might even throw a party in your honor...:eek::D

Best Regards,

I'm a ex Marine, well once one always one, and I let my mouth out do my brain. But that's what I'm shooting for. I'll get you guys some pics for the trailer and see if it will work for the repair and then it's demolition time.
