Not sure where your at but before putting the lower unit on id blast that thing out with water everyway I could.

I'm thinking it's from paper wasps.

And we’re back in business!!!

Now I’m on the hunt for a different water jacket gasket. This one I ordered matched exactly what’s in the schematics on Crowley marine but it is missing one of the bolt ones on my 77 power head. Didn’t even realize it was wrong because it a perfect fit!

327674 I believe is the part i need. Strange because this part starts being used in 1982. This 1977 still has the external coils and doesn't use the powerpacks yet.

Check that....I see, on the head. This is the part number I come up with. 0319665
319665 is the one i bought and installed (which is leaking). It is missing the little chunk in the upper port side corner of the gasket. I thought it was odd it was missing but everything else matched up. It is not correct.

New gasket Saturday, installed today. Pumps great. Took motor to river and this thing FLIES! I’m not sure I’ve got much higher top end speed but she jumps right up on plane which is what I was looking for.

Now to replace some of those motor mounts!
