Hey guys this is obviously my first post so bear with me. I recently bought a ski boat as a project boat but I have yet to find any information on it. I ran the HIN number and could only come come up with it being made in 1976 by Royal Fiberglass in Orange, California which has since been out of business since 1989. I have tried finding info about the company and even just that particular boat but have came up empty handed. If anyone can give me a little info about the boat or company that would help me out a bunch. Also whats the law on a boats capacity plate because I cant find one anywhere. Thanks

Re: 1976 Royal Fiberglass?

welcome to i boats....!....:)

great place as you can see....

thats a really cool boat......

as far as the vin tag....starboard side....near the transom......

most boats by smaller or unknown builders....were molds purchased from other companies.....all fiberglass boats were produced very much in the same way.....gellcoat in mold....chopper gun for the glass.....(stringers....wood or foam)....transom carpet and cap......

so your boat might be very simmelar to another......look at lots of boats in your area.....forget color...instrumentation...ect....just look at the shape...you might even find a very popular boat is identical in shape to yours.

cheers

Thanks guys for the complements. She's a little beat up and the interior is in really rough shape but other then that and no motor it should be good to go. Which leads to my other question, without a capacity plate how do I know what horsepower outboard can be safely put on it? And thanks for the tip "oops", now that I think about it i have seen similar boats.
