If you can find a way to solder a new wire on, that is the way. Replacements for the trigger and distributor body used to be avail for $200+. They were a drag to install, as you needed to pull the rotor shaft. See if CDI Electronics still sells them.

if you can find enough wire to connect to, I would recommend you remove the plastic insulation from a crimp type butt splice, coat the wires and splice with flux and crimp and solder the splice. Next some shrink tube over the splice.

Last year someone posted a long but detailed description with photos of this repair. Involved digging, out the potting material to solder new wires. Maybe a little searching with keywords will find it.

I got it all apart without breaking anything, but idk how to get all the epoxy out to expose the wires i can barely remove any with a razor blade.

Right now ive just got the spots i have to solder new wires too exposed. I found the best way to remove the epoxy stuff is to dig at it with a hot soldering iron. I just need to solder the new wires on and put it back together as of right now.

In your spare time, you might source a new trigger and distributor housing, for the day your trigger becomes intermittent. Just to see if they can still be gotten easily.

At this time in it's life, (nearly 50 years old), they tend to start to fail.

The trigger is the part the wires come out of. I also ended up getting some time to work on it today and i have the new wires soldered on i checked my work with a volt meter and nothing grounding out or any cross continuity. So hopefully it works i also cleaned all the old grease off and regreased it im gonna try and reinstall the part tomorrow or this weekend.

Triggers and distributor housings were $225 the last I looked some years ago. I think CDI Electronics made them, but Sierra is also a possibility.

I got the distributor back in and im getting power into the distributor but im not getting any power in the plug wires. So idk if i messed somthing up on that electronic panel or what. Idk what im gonna do from here because i really dont wanna buy a trigger worth than the motor itself i might just try and find a used one for cheap. Because even after i fix this im not one hundred percent sure the motor will run good.
